I've been feeling pretty useless on the mats lately, but I think part of that is facing different kinds of opponents, and the other part is needing to drill more. A LOT more. I so need a partner.Meganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13229873505463921052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1811893258346327939.post-36222635753073046242010-11-10T14:08:30.263-08:002010-11-10T14:08:30.263-08:00@ Savagekitsune - I'm with you on the cup. I used to worry all the time about bopping balls with my knees, heels, elbows, etc. Then I realized, It's their balls, so it's their responsibility to protect them, not me!

@ Megan - about "I'm starting to feel more jiu jitsu every day" I often think, "when am I going to start doing jiu jitsu?" It's like I train and train and train, then I watch the guys roll, and I know I don't look that amazing.

about "Teen: Yeah, but she's a girl." In my book, that was one hell of a compliment to you, especially considering the source."

Great Post!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1811893258346327939.post-60216391835551497712010-11-09T17:09:24.748-08:002010-11-09T17:09:24.748-08:00@Anonymous: Truth:) Though the "girl" in...@Anonymous: Truth:) Though the "girl" in question was also a grown woman, with a kid no-less.

@Trudy: Thanks for reading. It's good to know it's still something non-BJJ folk would be interested in.

@Kitsune: Do you know, one year in and I haven't rolled with one guy that's worn a cup yet? I don't know if it's because I train at an MMA school, but it seems to be a common practice. I've just gotten used to them being able to handle minor "incidents".

@PTG: Thanks:) I swear you leave the nicest comments in the BJJ blogosphere:)

@SkinnyD: No prob...figured I'd pay it forward since the kid had me cracking up.

@Georgette: Yeah...when I thought about it, if a 15 year old wasn't ashamed to be seen sitting out with me, then I must be doing something right. I just hope he'll grow to not mind sitting out with anyone...even the "girls".

@Zen: Feelings still in tact. Apologize to the keyboard for me:) The teens in the gym are really starting to fascinate me. The way they view things is just crazy.Meganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13229873505463921052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1811893258346327939.post-51498983421025329382010-11-09T15:06:31.637-08:002010-11-09T15:06:31.637-08:00...great post - I hope it doesn't hurt your fe......great post - I hope it doesn't hurt your feelings to know I spewed tea all over my keyboard laughing :-). The things that pop out unfiltered from some of the teens always gives me a new perspective on things (not necessarily good or bad per se but almost always very different). They probably feel the same way about me ;-).Zen Mojohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14557989107363853385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1811893258346327939.post-72463123414914512912010-11-09T10:44:07.755-08:002010-11-09T10:44:07.755-08:00Nicely put :) And I think him saying, in effect, ...Nicely put :) And I think him saying, in effect, that you're not "a girl" was an ineptly worded compliment.
