All Phlebotomists Should Grapple

It's pretty sad, but after a year, I wasn't 100% sure what to call my instructor. I caught him today and told him. He laughed and said "Parrumpha".

So yeah...went to my endocrinologist today and it was a very grapple-tastic visit. I was talking with the phlebotomist and he mentioned he was a wrestler. That's all it took. The rest of the visit consisted of talk about armbars and limb length and muscle vs. fat weight. It was great. This man though...best blood draw EVER. Five vials and I felt nothing. With the doctor though, I got to ask something I've been a bit worried about for a while. I was wondering about damage to the thyroid from repeated chokes. (mine's enlarged). She said no problems...yays.

I once told the nurse that the ring worm I have on my arm is probably from wrestling. Her eyes almost popped out of her head and she started laughing hysterically and went out to bring a couple of other nurses. Gasping for air, she said:" he...he...he's a wrestler!! hahaha"

(NB wrestling is almost non-existent in the uk)

After 6 months of training I had to go to the doctor to get my ear drained. I had a hard time fessing up to her how I got it. She must have wondered when my husband came in a couple of weeks later for the same problem.

I get funny looks when I go to the drugstore to buy syringes to drain my own ear...

@PTG...Laughed? Really??

The ear draining...I've never had to do it...makes me wonder if I'm not training hard enough...

Not training hard enough? Oh dear, Megan's going to the bad place! She is addicted to BJJ! Actually, not everyone gets cauli-ear. I have taken a couple of seminars with Relson, when he visited my academy; his ears are flawless.
